India and Norway Partnership have upgraded ties through a Green Strategic Partnership to promote clean energy, sustainable industrial development and the blue economy by combining Norway green technology expertise with India’s manufacturing strength and skilled workforce.

India and Norway formally elevated their bilateral relations to a Green Strategic Partnership. It aims to accelerate clean energy transitions, sustainable economic growth and marine cooperation. The agreement established an actionable framework to handle global climate challenges by utilising Norway technological expertise with India's massive manufacturing capabilities.The bilateral cooperation between India and the Nordic countries has gained significant momentum through the India-Nordic partnership framework. On 19 May 2026, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi joined the Prime Ministers of the Nordic nations at the Third India and Nordic Summit in Oslo, Norway. The summit strengthened India-Nordic relations by advancing a Green Technology and Innovation Strategic Partnership. It also promoted deeper collaboration in trade, investment, climate action, STEM research, blue economy, education, defence cooperation and Arctic engagement.

The first India-Nordic Summit was held in Stockholm, Sweden, on 16 and 17 April 2018. Jointly hosted by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, the summit brought together the leaders of India, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden to strengthen regional cooperation and deepen strategic partnerships.
