UPSC IAS Prelims Exam 2016: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will declare the ánal result of IAS in May, 2017. On the basis of civil services mains exam held from December 3 to 9, 2016 and personality test was conducted from March 20, 2017, the commission will release the list of candidates recommended for appointment in order of merit. Candidates will be allotted to various services – Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFoS), Indian Police Service (IFS) and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ based on their merit position and preference of post. The result of IAS 2016 will be made available in a PDF ále. Based on the ánal result of civil services, a total of 1079 vacancies will be álled in various services. Approximately, 11.36 lakh aspirants have appeared in the prelims exam of civil services. Out of which, around 15,000 candidates had qualiáed the prelims exam. Approximately, 2961 candidates were shortlisted for the personality test as per IAS result 2016. The marks of the candidates will be released within 15 days from the date of declaration of IAS result.
