Exam Stages

Exam Conducted in 3 stages:

• 1. RPSC RAS Prelims - The RPSC RAS preliminary exam has one objective paper on general knowledge and general science. It contains total 200 marks
• 2. ⁠RPSC RAS Mains - The mains exam includes 4 descriptive papers. Each contains 200 marks and the duration of the exam in 3 hours.
• 3. RPSC Interview- Candidates who clear prelims and mains are shortlisted for the interview. This tests your personality and views.

RPSC RAS Prelims

The Prelims checks a candidate’s basic knowledge of Rajasthan, India, and current affairs. Questions are mainly asked about Rajasthan’s history, culture, geography, polity, economy, science, and important events. Prelims marks are not counted in the final merit list, but clearing the exam is mandatory to appear for the Mains. This makes it an important step for every RAS aspirant.

RAS Mains

RAS Mains is the second stage of the RAS selection process. All four papers are compulsory. Each paper carries 200 marks and has a duration of three hours. Therefore, the written examination carries a total of 800 marks.
