third edition of the India-U.S. Defense Acceleration Ecosystem (INDUS-X) Summit took place on September 9-10, 2024, in California. A. The event marked significant progress in enhancing defense innovation collaboration between India and the USA. B. It was organized jointly by the S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and Stanford University.

  • Attendees: The event saw participation from experts in the defense industry, investment firms, startups, academia, think tanks, accelerators, and policymakers from both nations.

ABOUT INDUS-X

  • About iDEX: Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) is a flagship program of the Indian Ministry of Defence. It was launched in 2023 during the state visit of the Prime Minister of India to the US.
  • It aims to promote innovation in the defense and aerospace sectors by partnering with startups, innovators, SMEs, incubators, and academic institutions. iDEX provides grants and support for research and development projects with high potential for future adoption in Indian defense and aerospace.
  • Funding: iDEX is managed by the Defence Innovation Organization (DIO), a non-profit company established under the Companies Act 2013. The DIO is funded by Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) such as HAL and BEL.
