Context:

  • According to the Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has covered even the remotest habitations across the nation by delivering welfare measures to the needy people.
  • PM also said that Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra completed 50 days of its journey just 2-3 days ago and nearly 11 crore people have joined this Yatra.
  • He said that Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has become the journey of not only the government but also of the Country.
  • He also informed that since the Yatra began, 12 lakh new applications for Ujjwala connections were received along with lakhs of applications for Suraksha Bima Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, PM SVANidhi.
  • He also informed that health checkups for more than two crore people have been carried out so far which include one crore TB checkups and 22 lakh sickle cell checkups.

About the scheme:

  • Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat is a nationwide campaign to raise awareness across the country.
  • It tries to bring awareness through outreach activities to achieve saturation of schemes of Govt. of India across the country covering all Gram Panchayats, Nagar Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies.

The main objectives of the scheme include:

  1. To reach the vulnerable who are eligible under various schemes but have not availed benefit so far.
  2. Dissemination of information and generating awareness about schemes to the people
  3. Learning from the citizens that is Interaction with beneficiaries of government schemes through their personal stories/ experience sharing
  4. Enrolment of potential beneficiaries through details ascertained during the campaign
  • The campaign is being taken up by adopting a whole of government approach with active involvement of various Ministries/Departments of Government of India and State Governments, Central Govt. Organizations and Institutions to ensure the widest possible participation of all concerned for the benefit of Citizens of the country and also to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat.
